  1. Management Excellence – Management is both a science and an art. The ability to manage effectively is equally important to strong leadership in an organization. Managing teams and individuals to meet organizational goals is becoming increasingly difficult in today’s political dynamics. Having strong management skills is the backbone for any individual’s ability to foster a team’s success. This session focuses on the management skills toolbox and the attributes required to be a successful manager.
  2. Human Resource Leadership – Ultimately leadership is about influencing people (human resources) positively to achieve desired results. Leaders need to understand the basics of human resources from a motivational, policy, and legal perspective. This session will focus on the fundamentals of human resource management and setting human resource policy that supports the leadership model. Overcoming human resource challenges can be significantly improved when effective human resource policy and procedures are in place and embraced by municipal leaders.
  3. Diversity and Inclusion Leadership – The basic purpose of municipalities is to provide public good and set a positive example. Having a thorough understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusion in today’s workplace is essential for all leaders and managers. The session focuses on the fundamentals and best practices for diversity and inclusion. Modern human resource practices and policies will be covered. This session will have a special focus on developing a culture that fosters diversity and inclusion.
